About

The Antonine Trail Races are two events founded by Robert Sanderson as RD with the backing of Adventure Zone Scotland. They incorporate May’s ATRX and October’s Antonine Trail Race.

The ATRX is a 10k over Croy and Barr Hills noted for its ‘undulations’. The big one, the Antonine Trail Race, is a quirky 13.8 mile race over trail / mixed-terrain starting in Croy but taking in Auchinstarry, Kilsyth, Drumbreck, Twechar and back into Croy. It is mainly trail but all very runnable. The sting in the tail is the last 5k which sees the runners climb Barr Hill and Croy Hill to finish.

Robert has decided to hand over the reins for the races to James Stewart from 2016 and James is forming a new race committee to take on the running of the races. Literally and organisationally.

The ATRX will take place on 11th May, 2016 with the date for the ATR to be confirmed shortly after.
